About the 2025 cycle
The PISA 2025 cycle continues the international assessment with science as the major domain, alongside reading and mathematics. This section presents the key parameters of the cycle for Tajikistan.
Sample and participants
Target population
15-year-old students enrolled in educational institutions, regardless of grade or programme.
Sampling design
A representative sample is drawn in two stages: first schools, then students within schools.
Instruments
A computer-based cognitive assessment together with student, school and context questionnaires.
Detailed figures on the sample and participating institutions will be added.

Preparation
Adapting and translating instruments, training the national team.

Field Trial
Piloting test items and questionnaires on a smaller sample.

Administering the assessment to the full national sample of students.

Methodology
PISA uses standardised international procedures for sampling, test administration and scoring to ensure that results are valid, reliable and comparable across countries.
